This policy explains what information Steamalytics (“we”, “us”, this site) collects when you visit, and how it’s used. We’ve kept it short and plain because we collect very little.
What we collect
- Analytics. We use website analytics to understand which pages are popular and how the site performs. One of our two tools is cookieless and records only aggregate, anonymized visit data; the other (Google Analytics) uses cookies. Neither builds a personal profile of you.
- How you use the site. Alongside page visits we count a few interactions, so we know which features are worth keeping and which games we should be tracking: starring a game, sorting or filtering a board, changing a chart’s date range, clicking through to Steam, and what was typed into the search box. Search terms are recorded as game searches only — never linked to you, and capped in length so a stray paste can’t be stored.
- Technical context. Like every website, our servers receive standard technical details with each request (page URL, browser/user-agent, language, and IP address). We use these only to operate the site, diagnose problems and prevent abuse.
- What you send us. If you use the feedback form, we receive your message plus your browser and page context, and your email address only if you choose to give one. It’s used to read and reply to your feedback, nothing else.
- Your watchlist stays on your device. There are no accounts here, so your starred games are saved in your browser and never sent to us. We count that a star was tapped, and on which game — but we never receive, and cannot reconstruct, anyone’s watchlist.
Player-count data
The player counts, rankings and charts on this site are aggregate figures published by Steam’s public web API. They describe games, not people — we never collect, store or display anything about individual Steam accounts, profiles, libraries or playtime.
Advertising
This site may be supported by advertising. Third-party ad partners (including Google AdSense) may use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads. You can learn about and control personalized advertising through Google’s Ads Settings and aboutads.info.
What we don’t do
We don’t sell your personal information, we don’t require an account to use the site, and we don’t send marketing email.
Your choices
You can browse the entire site without submitting any personal information. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies and limit ad tracking through their settings.
